Contemporary art
The Swedish Design House Bantie launched its first collection of printed
fabrics in 2007, characterized then, as today, by the expression of
contemporary design and Scandinavian colour combinations.
Today the range includes about 10 patterns in different colour schemes on,
for example, wallpaper, fabrics, cushions, wash bags and serving trays.
Ulrika Gyllstad is responsible for design and her inspiration stems from a
wide spectrum of influences. Whether ideas are taken from Japanese woodcuts
or nature’s own organic patterns, both a hint of humour and a backward
glance at the past are ever-present features of Bantie design.
Bantie also has a shop/showroom on Åsögatan 176 in Stockholm and is
currently run by the founder Wilhelmina Wiese.
